At Orion Digital Services we understand how important your privacy is and we are dedicated to protecting it. The new General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) comes into effect on 25th May 2018. The GDPR law applies across the European Union and the objective is to provide consumers with increased rights, control and clarity over their personal data and how it is processed. The GDPR will have no effect on the service we currently provide. It requires Orion Digital Services to inform you of how we collect, process, share and store your personal data.
Considering this, we have developed our Privacy Policy. This policy may be updated from time to time and we would encourage you to review it regularly to keep up to date with any changes. The aim of this policy is to enable you to understand about the data we collect, who it is shared with, how it is used & how it is protected.
What personal data is collected?
Biographical data – When you sign up for our service we collect customer information which includes name, address, telephone number(s), Eircode and email address.
Payment data – If you pay us by direct debit or receive payments via electronic funds transfer we will collect the IBAN, BIC and the name of your bank or building society to enable us to process payments.
Technical data – When you connect to our network our systems may record your location, IP address, IMEI/SIM number or distinctive identifiers to establish a connection between our network and your device. We also record data usage & diagnostic information.
Online services – If you contact us online via e-mail, social media or through our website you will regularly send us personal data.
Connections with us – If you connect with us, via telephone calls, email or letters we may record and retain a record of these communications.
How is personal data collected?
The personal data we collect is largely accumulated through our Customer Agreement & Direct Debit Mandate Forms. However, if you contact us via e-mail, letters, telephone calls or social media we may also receive personal data from you.
Who your data is shared with?
We may, at times, in the pursuit of the provision of services to you, share you data with third parties.
How we protect your data
Securing your data is of utmost importance to us and we have taken appropriate measures to ensure that your data is protected and secured. Our aim is to protect your data from unauthorised access by implementing security procedures.
Retention of personal data
We retain your personal data for as long as is necessary to provide our services to you. Once we no longer require the use of your data and we are no longer legally required to retain it we will remove your data from our systems.
Your rights
Your rights concerning the personal data we possess about you:
- Right to access – You have the right to access and request a copy of the information we hold about you.
- Right to rectification – You have the right to request that any information we hold about you is corrected, if it is not accurate, or amended if it needs to be updated.
- Right to erasure – You have the right to request that any personal data we hold about you is deleted once we do not have a legal obligation to retain it.
- Right to Restriction of processing – You have the right to request that we do not process your personal data for a particular purpose.
- Right to Object – You have the right to object to the processing of your information.
- Right to data portability – You have the right to request your information is transferred to you or a third party via electronic means.
